Programs are tailored to introduce small groups to basic mindfulness practices that enable self-knowledge, cultivate compassion for self and others, reduce stress, increase the capacity to learn, and facilitate making healthy choices. Social Justice - Listen Learn Act

Program ID: OVP_PRG_803

It’s impossible to thrive as an individual without being part of a healthy, just community. Louisville faces a number of pressing social justice issues, including a long history of racial discrimination and deep socio-economic divides. The Passionist Earth & Spirit Center, in partnership with ListenLearnAct.org and Louisville Metro Government Office of Equity’s Lean Into Louisville program, is especially focused on working for racial equity through education and action groups.

Environmental Bus Tours

Program ID: PRG70096
Apply / Register Link ↗

We offer a variety of bus tours around Louisville and the region that help groups learn about environmental challenges, their social justice implications, and the ingenious, inspiring solutions that are helping to bring about a more just and sustainable world. Environmental Justice bus tours feature an interactive discussion as we drive through West Louisville, which is – not coincidentally – home to both Louisville’s largest pollution challenges and its poorest and most marginalized citizens. This tour will open your eyes to environmental justice issues right here in our city. Sustainable Solutions bus tours offer an inspiring and informational experience to showcase what is happening in Louisville to protect its watersheds, manage its waste, grow local food, generate renewable electricity, and promote a safe, sustainable city. Offerings are geared toward middle-high school students and are also offered for faculty groups.
